A good portion of this little book talks about the solemn covenant made virtually between man and its maker; that is adverted and renewed by every act of devotion. This book is rich with gems of knowledge on religion in the context of covenanting with God, keeping it and deliberating well-grounded resolutions in this covenant. The author further emphasizes keeping the promises of this covenant so that he is blessed with certainty and a sense of divine faithfulness. Alleine’s strong and fixed faith is reflected in the text, like the strength in his resolution in the covenant of grace. As Lord was the rock of his heart and never failed him, he never forsakes Christ, encouraging his readers to do the same.
