Peaceful Christians

Christian pacifism is the theological and ethical position according to which pacifism and non-violence have both a scriptural and rational basis for Christians, and affirms that any form of violence is incompatible with the Christian faith. Jesus says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you” in the Gospel of John. Jesus gives us peace, which means it is his, and therefore God’s, to give. Peace is the presence of God and we need to find God in our everyday lives in order to find peace and then channel it in our lives.

A Call to Revival
Christian Life by
Anon
“Revival refers to a spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy or stagnation in the life of a believer. It encompasses the resurfacing of a love for God, an appreciation of God’s holiness, a passion for His Word and His church, a convicting awareness of personal and corporate sin, a spirit of humility, and a desire for repentance and growth in righteousness. Revival invigorates and sometimes deepens a believer’s faith, opening his or her eyes to the truth in a fresh, new way. It generally involves the connotation of a fresh start with a clean slate, marking a new beginning of a life lived in obedience to God. Revival breaks the charm and power of the world, which blinds the eyes of men, and generates both the will and power to live in the world but not of the world.“.

Practice the Presence of God

One of the most adored books on living in God’s presence comes from an unlikely source— a man who was maimed as a young soldier and later became a footman “who was clumsy and broke everything.” That is the early life of Nicholas Herman before he became Brother Lawrence.
