Selected Sermons of George Whitefield
Homiletics by
George Whitefield
This book is a compilation of sermons by probably the most famous religious figure of the eighteenth century who had influenced America’s founding fathers. George Whitefield was capable of commanding thousands of people in America and Europe through his powerful oratory. Newspapers called him “marvel of the age,” and his audience called him the “Grand Itinerant.”
As a schoolboy, Whitefield took an interest in theater and often practiced for performances. This theatrical background helped him portrayed the biblical characters with life that enthralled his audience during his sermons. That’s why wherever he preached, people crowded and hung on every word he said. His methods were unconventional, that many churches in London didn’t welcome him to preach in their pulpits. Instead, he tried extemporaneous preaching outdoors, which drove tens of thousands of people to the point that a church cannot hold its volume.

Seven Sayings of the Saviour on the Cross
Church History by
Arthur W. Pink
If you are about to die today, what are the last thing you would want to say to those you will leave behind? Upon His death, Jesus is both humble and obedient. Though in agony, He was characterized by self-abandonment to His destiny. This book will show us the heart of Jesus, what He was thinking, and what He chose to say as He hung on the cross of the Calvary. We will see Christ’s passion for His people and dedication to fulfill the Father’s will that in His last breath, he shouted victoriously, “It is finished.”
A book with gold on each page, this work by A.W. Pink encourages us not just to listen but do what the Word of God said. So let’s examine the seven last words of the man who died a terrible death but lived without a fault. A Savior who died in our place so that we may live and have life abundantly.

Typology in Scripture
Commentary Reference by
George L. Faull
This work by George Faull is like a literary analysis of the Bible. It talks about the interpretation of types and symbols seen in the Bible and their connection with each other. It shows the analogy of Christ to biblical characters like David, Jonathan, Nehemiah, Jonah, Joseph, Noah, Isaac, and others. It illustrates the contrast between Adam and Christ, the two kinds of trees mentioned in the New and Old Testament, Paradise and the New Jerusalem, etc. It describes how the Ark is a type of church, flood as a type of judgment, and Joseph’s brethren a type of Israel. It identifies the names used to describe Christ in each book of the Bible. It explains why Heaven is a great place. It also clarifies the meaning of words used to describe several concepts that were not easy to understand. In short, it provides in-depth learning for Bible students. So, if you are a serious student of the Scripture, this book should be part of your reference.

Discovering Christ in all the Scriptures
Reference Typology by
Daniel Fortner
Jesus said that he is the Alpha and the Omega (Beginning and End), but how could it be if we only saw His stories on the Gospel and His name was not even mentioned before that?
Jesus, in human form, may have existed in the New Testament, but it doesn’t mean he was absent in the Old Testament. In this book, Don Fortner listed all the books in the Bible as a chapter. He showed how Christ had been there from the start and will be there till the end of time. We can see how He can be found by type, symbol, and prophecies in each book of the Scriptures. He also presented how the Old Testament writings are connected to Christ and His coming.
Fortner also shows the gist of each book of the Bible and its relation to the whole Scriptures. He hoped to give us a zoom-lens view of those books so that we could grasp His Divine Revelation more fully. So let’s have a holistic look at the Word of God through this book.

Works of Jonathan Edwards Vol 1
Complete Theology by
Jonathon Edwards
Though his father and maternal grandfather were pastors, and he was the only son among the 11 children of his parents, Jonathan Edwards did not accept his theological birthright submissively. But if not for inheritance or family background, what does it take for a man to find God? Edwards confessed that his mind was full of objections during childhood. Only with his conversion that he became delighted with the truths he grew up with.
This volume contains extracts from his diary, letters to different people, and narratives about various topics. Written by a man with deep convictions, this book is not for casual reading. It has to be read with a meditation of the Word. Although Edwards was primarily identified as a theologian, he is considered the greatest philosopher in American History. If you want to know why, this is the book to consult.

Works of Jonathan Edwards Vol 2
Complete Theology by
Jonathon Edwards
Are religiosity and spirituality the same thing? Should we love the Lord with all our hearts or with all our minds? When it comes to faith, is it better to be emotional or rational? Jonathan Edward’s works were written during the 18th-century Great Awakening, where revival swept across America. However, this zeal towards spirituality came with a problem in counterfeit faith. For others were only persuade with the heat of the moment but lack sincerity in their religion.
This 2nd volume is an extensive collection of works that includes a biography Edward had written about his colleague in the mission field, theological discourses, spiritual treatise, and biblical exegesis. It also contains sermons that tackle how God is glorified through our dependence on Him, the fate of sinners in the hands of an angry God, divine decrees and light, many of his “Miscellanies,” and many more. Edwards also presented twelve signs of a truly converted life by differentiating genuine from false piety. It reminds us that the false cannot be true, but the true can become false. May we find the true way towards faith and never depart from it.

Kingdom of the Cults
Cult Apologetics by
Walter Martin
In the olden times, books are rare. Every town only has one copy of the Scriptures, and only a rabbi can read and interpret them to the people. However, not everyone can be a rabbi. You can only teach the Scriptures if you are the cream of the crop.
With the advent of technology, information is readily available. Everyone can have a copy of the Bible. Many people, even if they are not deep learners, were giving their interpretation of the Word. This freedom has its perks, but it also created many problems because some people misused the Word and carried the Bible with malice.
Martin Walter is an apologist who dived deep into the study of different religious sects. His book “Kingdom of the Cults” is considered the best classic that discussed cults in America. It reminds us that freedom should be balanced with responsibility so that we may not misread what the Bible had said.

Popular Beliefs are the Biblical?
State of the Dead by
Dr. Samuele Bacchocchi
What is the view of different religions about the afterlife? What is the perspective of Egyptians, Greek, Jews, and Christians about Immortality of the Soul? Why did the reformers reject the belief about purgatory? How do the different sects of Christianity evaluate the Bible? Is the Bible free from errors or full of errors? Why are there historical attacks against the Bible, like preventing its distribution and reading by the Roman Empire, Moslems, Communists, and even Catholics and Protestants themselves?
These are some of the questions that Bacchocchi answered. In this book, he presented the popular beliefs that we have today and explained that not because it’s popular, it’s biblical, because it turns out that many of our beliefs are rooted in Greek philosophy. He reexamined if these beliefs are still in harmony with the teachings of Jesus’ day and back it up with what the Bible had said. It was the sincere hope of the author that the truth that God revealed for our salvation could be recovered.
