The total eclipse of Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014 was the first in a tetrad of total eclipses. That is four in a row, an uncommon alignment of the astronomical circumstances that cause eclipses to take place. There will be another total eclipse this year on October 8, and also on April 4 and September 28 of 2015. Tetrads are an uncommon astronomical events. The eclipses of this Tetrad also happen to coincide with the Lords Feasts of Passover and Sukkoth (or Tabernacles) followed by a solar eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets. While the last heavenly Tetrads marked Israel’s birth – it also coincided with another trend in the earth.
So while we are awaiting this rare occurrence, nature herself is contracting awaiting the appearance of her King. Her urgency is a steady drumbeat that will soon disrupt life as we know it. She is not speaking in rare “blood moons” but she is stirring the very ground on which we stand, peering into the heavens. When the God made a covenant with Israel, He called heaven and earth as witnesses to the agreement. Deut 32 v 1 Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. When He called them to account in Judgement He once again called the witnesses present at the original agreement. Isaiah 1:2 Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth! This is what the LORD says: “The children I raised and cared for have rebelled against me.
Note the increase in Earthquakes that no longer make our news. They were prophesied to intensify (Matthew 24:7) a recent study shows a dramatic increase in earthquakes worldwide, just since the decade of Israel’s rebirth.
• In the 1940’s there were 51 earthquakes above 6.0 on the Richter scale,
• the 1950’s, 475;
• the 1980’s, 1085;
• and the 1990’s, 1514.
The last 30 days have been active. Twenty Two significant earthquakes in 30 days? Yellowstone should have alarmed us. We have improved our building codes and now a 7 on the Richter scale barely causes damage. With no death and destruction we tune out God’s drumbeat, and relegate the daily earthquakes to the back page, like the frog in the water. But are these not almost daily?
God will not leave us without a witness, even if He has to shake the very ground on which we stand. And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.” (Matt. 24:4-8)
We are told to prepare for a time of sorrow, for blood and the contracting pain of labor will birth a new Era. In that awful Day of God, the very ground now groaning, will shout her answer to His call. Rev 6 v 12 I watched as He broke open the sixth seal. There was a powerful earthquake. The sun turned black like black clothes that were made from the hair of a goat. The whole moon turned as red as blood. 13 The stars in the sky fell to earth. They dropped like ripe figs from a tree shaken by a strong wind. 14 The sky rolled back like a scroll. Every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
Anybody want to estimate the magnitude on the Richter Scale of that?
