Prayer 101

Practical Teaching on Prayer by
John Edmiston

Christians, often adrift and questioning ones, find it exhausting to speak to God through prayer. Why is that? It is difficult to pray because genuine prayer requires humbling one’s self. It is to acknowledge and accept one’s sins and faults. Furthermore, it is difficult to pray since the emphasis is too frequently on the act of prayer rather than on God. We know Him by His grace, and we know He is present. That He is not quiet, but always responds to our pleas and acts by His perfect will for our eternal welfare and His glory. Prayer 101 is a concise manual created to assist people to learn the many styles of prayer. This guidebook was created to provide basic definitions of prayer. Individuals will discover how to pray in this book and how simple prayer may be. Prayers for despair, loneliness, disease, bereavement, and loss are included.
