Middle East in Bible Prophecy

Prophecy  by
Anon

The Middle East seems to bring the world a constant stream of bad news. Bible prophecy shows that this bad news will continue until Jesus Christ’s return. But once the world survives “Armageddon” in the Middle East, a time of good news will follow. Jerusalem will then live up to its name: “City of Peace.”

Gospel of the Kingdom

Doctrine  by
Unknown

Despite man’s effort to address different issues that threaten his existence, suffering is inevitable. But amidst the pain and suffering, where do you look? Do you look at the valley of shadow and wallow in sorrow or do you look up in heaven and search for silver linings? This booklet will remind us of the hope that Jesus brought 2,000 years ago. His message prophesized the wonderful future for humanity after a period of intense catastrophes. The author emphasized that the gospel should not be reduced to a story about one person because it is a message of salvation for the world. It is the message that Jesus announces to humanity and instructs us to believe. Despite the hardships in this world, He wants us to experience the Kingdom of God here on Earth.

Fleeing Out of Sodom

Christian Living  by
Jonathan Edwards

Choosing Jesus means no turning back. Fleeing Out of Sodom by Jonathan Edwards talks about the story of the destruction of Sodom, with all its circumstances, which appears to be incorporated in the Scriptures for our warning and is held forth as an example, a wake-up call that we all need to hear. Edwards asserts that fleeing from Sodom is a type of journey which all true believers make when turning from a sinful life. This explains the doctrine: we ought not to look back and the application of it. It gives several compelling reasons why one should be firm in deciding when fleeing from sin. There is nothing of value to look back on and be considered. Those joys are only ephemeral, and those who persist in them will be destroyed. It explains the importance of this story as a reminder to all believers.

Corrective Church Discipline

Doctrine  by
Albert N. Martin

If you know that a path leads to a deadly cliff, will you ignore or warn anyone from going there? If you are a shepherd and a sheep goes astray, will you let it be or correct its direction? A child disciplined is a child loved, but why did many leaders today shy away from correcting?
Discipline may not sound pleasing. It gained a negative connotation in church history because of inquisitions, imprisonment, burning at stake, and other vicious and dehumanizing activities. But if we bring what the New Testament had said about church living, we can see that corrective discipline is an underappreciated means of grace that is essential for the church’s edification. So let’s reflect on our own shortcomings and remember that discipline is not mean to punish us but to transforms us. May we examine our lives and church in the light of God’s Word.

Names of God in Holy Scripture

Doctrine  by
Andrew John Jukes

Elohim, Jehovah, El Shaddai, El Elyon, Adonai, El Olam—are you familiar with these words? All of these are names that pertain to God. But what’s the need for such variation if it is all refers to Him?
Jukes explores the original Hebrew and Greek text to reveal things about God that English translations missed in this book. He illustrates that we can know God better through the various names associated with Him. He emphasized that God wants us to know Him, but our mere intellect cannot open what those names contain. Only those with faith, humility, love, and patience amidst the uncertainties will be led to a full knowledge of who He is. May our meditation on the meaning of His names serve as a guide to know Him more so that we can reflect His image.

Inspiration and Authority of the Bible by B.B. Warfield

Inspiration and Authority of the Bible

History  by
B.B. Warfield

How does an ancient writing influence the world even today? How legitimate are the claims that it conveys divine revelations even if humans wrote it? To whom will you listen when it comes to the validation of this ancient writing?
The authority of the Bible was compromised because of two extremities. Firstly, by the elitist theologians and preachers who claimed unusual gifting. And secondly, by modern biblical scholars who had proven the human authorship of the Bible but proceeded with stripping its authenticity, miracles, and historical interventions of God.
True to his name, Warfield fought wars in the religious battlefield by deflecting the attacks of modernist and higher biblical critics about the divine revelation of God. He defended the belief that although the writers are human, the ultimate author is God himself. Warfield emphasized that the authors wrote down what God dictated to them through the aid of the Holy Spirit.

Selected Sermons of Jonathan Edwards

Homiletics  by
Jonathan Edwards

Where will you stand in the judgment? With the sheep or the goats? These are some of the striking thoughts the book, Selected Sermons of Jonathan Edwards would ponder reader’s mind.
This book holds reminders of what the Bible stated about sin and sinful men if they insist on doing things their way and according to their creeds, beliefs, and practices. The book offers a lot of spiritual depth and insight that you don’t see very often in today’s sermons. It also has historical significance because Edwards is America’s only theologian and a pivotal figure in the country’s history.
Unlike some other ancient text reproductions, this book was able to maintain the quality of images such as portraits, maps, sketches, and others, so that it correctly portrays the original item.
